MAYOR MCMAHON AND BARNES & NOBLE BOOKSELLERS KICK OFF BOOK DRIVE FOR GREATER READING COPS ‘N’ KIDS PROGRAM WITH STORY TIME EVENT

Monday, December 1, 2008:

Thomas M. McMahon, Mayor, City of Reading, Pennsylvania, and Julie Blatt, Wyomissing Barnes & Noble Merchandise Manager, have announced the first of two special story time events to be held at Barnes & Noble Booksellers at which Mayor McMahon will be the guest reader.  These special events are being held in conjunction with a book drive benefiting Greater Reading Cops ‘N’ Kids.  The first

Event will take place on December 3, 2008, at 10:00 a.m. at Barnes & Noble Booksellers.  The Spring

Township Police Department will also be at the event to print Kid Card ID Kits for children.

Make A Note!

As contractors begin the first phase of the restoration of the Pagoda, the trademark exterior red neon lights on the Pagoda will be disconnected on Wednesday, August 20, 2008 at 8:00 a.m.  The neon lights will remain off for the duration of the restoration whichis anticipated to be completed by the end of this year.
