| The police department, presently headed by Chief Gerald K. Mohn, Jr. was started in 1968 with one full-time officer. The department now has eight police officers, consisting of a chief, sergeant, corporal, and five officers, giving 24-hour service.
The department answers approximately 4,500 calls for service a year. The department conducts home security checks, security surveys, and offers crime prevention programs to the public. Programs on drug and alcohol resistance and bicycle safety are conducted at the Lower Heidelberg Elementary School.
The officers would like to ask the Township residents to assist the police department by immediately reporting suspicious situations. Dial 911 for emergency calls and 610-678-3011 for nonemergency calls. |
